Last week I posted about Brett Cook's install of his show Supernatural at Guerrero Gallery...here are the pics from opening night. It seriously could not have been better weather. It almost felt like summer in San Francisco! The gallery was in full swing as I rode up, there were kids outside drawing and playing with clay, food was being served, Tecate was being poured and lots of laughs and fun happening as people spilled in and out of the gallery.
Inside Brett's altars and effigy's graced the gallery thoughtfully, paying homage to great intellectuals, visionaries and political figures such as Angel Davis, Noam Chompsky, Martin Luther King Jr., Thich Nhat Hanh, and most importantly, I thought was Brett's Granmother. Brett celebrates the interconnectedness of all beings, but the back room dedicated to the life of his Grandmother touched me the most. Lots to look at and think about.
Supernatural runs through July 3. More images after the jump and the full night of pics on the blog's flickr.
